Squawk Operation

Reset Squawk!

Now that you're familiar with the concept, it's time for the Marseille FIR's main event. After the VID, the callsign and many others, it's time for the squawk! For the first time in history, the transponder will be used not only to be detected by the ATC's radar...

On Saturday April 20, between 18:00 UTC and 22:00 UTC, we invite you to take part in a new, Made in Marseille FIR, lottery in the Montpellier TMA.

 PILOTS

Pilots, you have to depart from any airport of your choice, in France or abroad, to Montpellier (LFMT), as your initial destination.

Depending on your squawk code, your plans may change. Before your departure, we encourage to prepare Montpellier approach charts, but also the charts of the neighboring airports!

For this event, we encourage to use a category C maximum and medium aircraft (such as B737, A320, etc).

Please remember:

  • Be ready and have your charts;
  • You may be asked to follow heading, proceed directly to waypoints (or hold);
  • Pay attention not to obstruct ongoing communication, particularly joining a new frequency;
  • Do not hesitate to take more fuel than expected;
  • Enjoy! :)
