To mark the 50th (+1) anniversary of Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (formerly Lyon-Satolas), the Marseille FIR and the Events Department invite you to join us on April 12, 2026, at the Lyon airfield to celebrate this almost-anniversary. For the occasion, we’ve decided to spread this event out over 6 hours… a little nod to a past event in Lyon.
So pick your favorite plane, inflate the balloons, and join us on April 12, 2026, from 15:00 UTC to 21:00 UTC!


PILOTS

Your mission: Complete a flight under VFR or IFR conditions during at least 45 minutes, to or from Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LFLL). minutes.

Also remember:

  • Be ready and keep your charts easily accessible;
  • Upon arrival, you may be instructed to follow vectors or hold;
  • Please be patient and avoid interrupting ongoing communications (especially when joining a frequency);
  • Consider carrying extra fuel;
  • Most importantly: Enjoy! :)

Event rules

Pilots: This event will grant one point toward the Pilot Events Award for any pilot for any pilot flying for at least 45 minutes from or to Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LFLL) during the event's time slot.
