IVAO France Discord Usage Charter and Information (updated: 02/10/2025)

Regulations

1. Scope of Application

• These regulations apply to all members present on the IVAO France division Discord server, regardless of their roles within the division or the network in general.

2. Languages Used

• The only languages allowed on the division’s Discord are French and English.

3. Proper Use

• The IVAO France Discord must be used exclusively for activities related to the IVAO network and aviation, both real and simulated. Any misuse or inappropriate use of the server is strictly prohibited.

4. Audio Content Transmission

• Transmitting sounds such as music or sound effects is prohibited unless expressly authorized by a division staff member for specific events.
• Voice-modification software is not allowed.
• Audio recordings are strictly forbidden without the prior consent of all members connected in the voice channel.

5. Screen Sharing

• Screen sharing, including streaming and webcam use, is permitted only for activities related to IVAO and aviation. Any other use is strictly forbidden and may lead to sanctions.
• Screen sharing during a theoretical exam is strictly prohibited and may result in a 6- to 12-month suspension from the IVAO network.

6. Member Conduct

• All members must demonstrate courtesy, kindness, and cooperation toward others. Any disrespectful, offensive, or disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited.

7. Compliance with IVAO Rules and Regulations

• During any activity on the IVAO France Discord, IVAO network rules and regulations (R&R) apply fully and without exception. Any violation may lead to sanctions.

8. Member Exclusion

• Exclusion from the Discord server may also result in additional sanctions on the IVAO network, depending on the seriousness of the infraction.

9. Privacy and Security

• Sharing or disclosing personal information—including that of others—or company-owned documents in public channels is strictly prohibited. Such content must be shared only in appropriate, secure channels.

10. Copyright Compliance

• All content shared on the server, including images, videos, and documents, must comply with copyright laws. Sharing copyrighted material without authorization is strictly prohibited.

11. Appropriate Language

• Members must avoid using vulgar, offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language. Any form of hate speech, sexism, xenophobia, or incitement to hatred will not be tolerated.

12. Advertising

• Advertising products, services, or Discord servers—other than official IVAO servers and official Discord servers of third-party software developers (Fenix, PMDG, Inibuild, etc.)—is prohibited, regardless of the form used.

13. Conflict Resolution

• In the event of a conflict between members, they are encouraged to resolve it in a civil and respectful manner. Members may contact a staff member if mediation is needed.

14. Inappropriate Content

• It is strictly forbidden to share or distribute content that is pornographic, political, violent, or promotes illegal or dangerous behavior.
• As Discord profile pictures are visible to all on the server, moderators reserve the right to suspend access to anyone whose picture is deemed inconsistent with the above rule.

15. Reporting Abuse

• Members are encouraged to report any abusive behavior, rule violations, or other issues to a staff member. Reports will be handled confidentially.

16. Network Suspension

• Any member suspended from the IVAO network by the Executive may, in certain cases, be temporarily excluded from the division’s Discord for the duration of the suspension. Once it ends, access can be regained by clicking the link available on the division’s website. If the link does not work after the suspension, contact fr-web@ivao.aero.

17. Applicable Sanctions and Notifications

In case of non-compliance with the regulations, the following sanctions may apply:

• Verbal warning
• Written warning
• Temporary timeout (from 5 minutes to 24 hours). Access to the server will automatically resume at the end of the timeout period.
• Temporary exclusion from the server (from 1 to 90 days). After this period, access requires visiting the division website and clicking the “Discord” link.
• Permanent exclusion from the server

All moderation actions will be notified to the member by email and via Discord (if notifications are enabled on their profile).

A sanction issued by a division staff member may, depending on severity, be reclassified by FR-HQ. A new notification will then be sent.

18. Amendment of the Regulations

• The Discord server regulations may be modified at any time by FR-HQ. Members will be informed of any changes via an announcement on Discord and must comply with the updated rules.

Information

• Each member’s nickname is automatically generated from their IVAO profile data in accordance with IVAO naming rules. It is used for welcoming, organizing activities, and coordinating operations on the server.
• Members are invited to use the appropriate channels and roles to facilitate communication and activity organization. It is recommended to check “Show all channels” in the server menu to access all available channels.
• Before asking questions, members should consult the FAQ for answers to common queries. For further assistance, the “question” channel is available.
• The “Coordo” channels are reserved for air traffic controllers, observers, and pilots connected to the IVAO network. They are exclusively for ATC and flight coordination and must not be used for other discussions.
• Members are encouraged to respect the channels dedicated to FIRs and towers to facilitate communication with managers and participants.
• Discussions and advice concerning flight simulators are welcome but must remain related to aviation and IVAO network activities. Off-topic content may be removed by staff members.
• Please remember that some jokes can be offensive to others. Respect everyone’s opinions and sensitivities.
• These regulations aim to ensure a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment for all IVAO France Discord members. Any failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including exclusion from the server.
• All IVAO France staff members are authorized to moderate the Discord and enforce these rules.
